What the Next Eight Weeks Quietly Decide

This week’s article made the timing case: the decisions that shape the end of your year get made in the fall, but the read that drives them is forming now, in the quiet weeks before anyone is officially calibrating anything. Here is why that window matters more than the meetings do.

By the time a promotion or a move is being formally discussed, the impression that decides it has usually already set. The meeting mostly confirms what the deciders already believed walking in. So the leverage is not in the conversation. It is in the weeks before it, when you can still shape the read cheaply, before anyone is watching for it and before the story about you has hardened. Miss that window and you spend the fall making a case against an impression that formed in the summer.

The window is open right now, and it closes quietly as the fall gets underway. Below the line, how to use the next eight weeks before calibration season starts, in three concrete moves.

If you want to work that window with me directly, that is what the workshop is for. Two live sessions, Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27, on the two systems that decide your next move and one move to start shifting the read. Registration is open.
